It has a mild nutty flavour similar to raw spinach. Red Amaranth is rich in carotene, iron, calcium, protein, Vitamins A, C & K, and potassium, making it nutritionally comparable to Swiss Chard and Spinach.

Taste: Lollo Rosso lettuce is strong, nutty with a slightly bitter taste.

Nutrition: It is full of powerful antioxidants and is a good source of vitamins A and C, folate, and iron. In terms of nutritional value, Lollo Rosso Lettuce rates higher than Iceberg Lettuce.

Taste: Iceberg Lettuce is crispy, watery and has a very mild flavour.
